And… here we start!
Can you feel the butterflies?
Do you feel the excitement?
I’m so enthusiastic that you’re with me.
With us.
A family of people who chose differently: treating their bodies with love and care.
If you are here, it’s a sign that you have made a change, choose differently. And only for that alone, you deserve respect and kudus!
So, starting today, you are embarking on a new nutritional path: removing all sugars and most carbs. Adding supplements. And repairing sugar damage.
A path that will set the tone for a healthy lifestyle that you longed for.
As you start the challenge, your body goes through a “reset”.
And as it does so, you’ll deal with your past habits. That’s your greatest challenge.
Your Habits
It’s 4 in the afternoon. You’re boiling water for coffee.
As soon as you make your coffee, you are looking for something to eat with it.
And it will usually be a cookie or something sweet next to the coffee.
Is this an impulse or habit?
No matter what the reason you are here with me in this challenge, it’s clear that you came here with a certain lifestyle.
A lifestyle that you now need to change. Whether it is a dramatic change or a slight change.
I called this program a “challenge” because I understand that sometimes all we need is one word to motivate us.
A word that when we hear it, we say to ourselves:
“No problem, I can do it!”
These 21 days is a period of time that you’re focused on making the change you longed for.
And the reason it is a challenge because, besides the change inside our bodies, another change happens in our minds. In our brains.
Let’s talk about habits.
#1 Secret to Changing Habits
When we change a habit, it could be not putting sugar into the coffee. Or eating fewer dishes with bread. Or making new recipes, even though we are not used to cooking.
The following we know from neuroscience:
When you do something new, different than what you used to be, your brain creates a new nerve.
So all those things will change the physical nerves in our brains.
That’s why the first change is always painful. Uncomfortable. This when our bodies begin the create this new nerve.
And we think: I don’t want to experience this discomfort or pain again!
The secret is knowing that it becomes easier with time. The next time, the nerve will be there, and your body will make another improvement to set the habit.
Each time, the activity will be less and less comfortable. Including saying “no” to things we used to say “yes”.
So the change is not just repairing sugar damage, but also creating of new nerves that form habits.
By the end of the 21 days, you’ll form new habits. These will carve the way for a healthy lifestyle for you!
Self Observation
So, you should expect certain discomfort. You should expect your brain to second guess you:
“Was it the right decision to join?
“My body need sugar. It’s in my genes”.
Instead of resisting it, observe it. Those are simply how your brain deals with the change.
Must eat something?
Think for a moment why – examine your need for eating now.
Is it because of the established habit? Hunger? Boredom?
Fatigue… which your brain makes you believe sugar is the solution for?
A real change comes from looking at our needs and impulses.
Hunger is a need we need to fulfill but a habit is an urge that can be changed. Yes, even in just 21 days.
It’s neuroscience.
Expect the discomfort.
Observe it.
Let it go and focus on the challenge rules.
It will go away.
The Second Secret
Clear boundary. Meaning, clear no and clear yes.
Gray areas are where our mind can trick us. Because our minds, want to go back to the old habits.
“It’s too difficult” “Maybe I should eat just a bit of this cake”. Those thoughts are coming from your mind. They usually come when we don’t have a clear “no” that we decide regardless of how we feel.
When we make the decision with a clear no, when we’re decisive, our minds leave us alone.
That’s why we need to be clear with our minds what we eat and what we don’t eat.
Learn the rules well, and declare to your mind that there is no other option.
The Challenge Rules – Let’s Refocus
